California Attorneys and Politicians
California Attorneys and politicians are to blame for the energy crisis and blackouts and the ones, which will come this summer too. A simple study of finite capacity scheduling would have yielded the necessary tools for the CA state government to figure out what was actually feasible. They obviously did not understand the capacity of the power line and the amount of energy trading that would occur when deregulation took place. Obviously if someone is going to get a better deal on energy they are going to buy it somewhere else? You cannot energy futures when you do not have the power lines to move the energy to a different region, just like you cannot use the Ford factories excess capacity to make pharmaceuticals. Think of the problem; attorneys and politicians who are master manipulators of human emotion make policy on the deregulation of CA energy based on reports done by quote experts that were paid by government millions to do reports.
Of course, the reports may have been good or maybe not, but surely were only glanced at anyway by politicians who are not smart enough to understand or did not enough time to read, and may even conflict with the time necessary to campaign to get re-elected or sit down for lunch with those who finance their elections. Lots of people invested in Enron stock when CA was in an energy crisis, since they owned a lot of contracts. Their stock was inflated based on their future earnings that CA would never pay and later sue for. But was it really Enron's fault or was it just stupid, ignorant California Attorneys and Politicians, who screwed California. After all deregulation was California's idea in the first place to lower prices. Luckily Arnold has it right and he is putting together the department of energy for California to work with the DOE and get the crisis solved before peak season summer. Let's hope they get things ready before California has its next disaster.
You know it is funny it took the terminator to turn California upright, those brown nose politicians have been bending over so long, they forgot which way was up. Thanks Arnold, thanks for listening.

Belly Full of the Clintons [Political View]
As I read the papers and watch the news day after day after day, and listen to the debates on what we Americans should do with Iran and North Korea, as if we were the only ones involved, yet as always the world will put their two cents in, and to be quite honest, that is all financially they will give, but for advise, like my neighbors, they will give a tone of it away free. Anyhow, I should get to my clout in my throat.
Russian State Administration Gives New Facelift to Oil and Energy Resources
With the world's largest oil and natural gas reserves, second in coal production and eighth largest oil assembly, President Vladimir Putin draws grandiose plan for the country's hydrocarbon reserve encouraging drilling and investment plans aimed at further development. Private investments, domestic or foreign is however, a big no-no, rather state government plays the steward to Russia's energy patrimony or to say 'serve the national interest'.
North Korea and Diplomatic Solutions; Random Thoughts Part I
You know now that North Korea is backing down on their nuclear ambitions we seem to have a problem with the 8 nuclear weapons already created that no one wishes to address. In studying the reports and having thoughts on this matter; it seems we might still end up in a war over these issues.
Pilot-Less and High Speed Train Transportation Systems; Better Strategy Needed
We recently saw another ferry accident, this one in NY when the pilot of the vessel fell asleep, which may have been a medical situation or condition, but never the less, accidents like these would be prevented by pilot-less transit systems. This would be no problem with modern technology.
Trains and the Flow of Fuel
Fuel costs seem to rank high in surveys of US citizens most grave concerns. Rates up there at the top, doesn't it?Who are some heavy users of fuel that are not as often thought of? For surface transportation there are many indeed; cars, trucks, buses, etc.
Lyndon Johnson - The Day After Dallas
J. Edgar Hoover and LBJ used to enjoy watching Hoover's agent filmed blackmail evidence for all Washington movers and shakers and we are now a lot more aware of the nature of the unelected Tyrant who rulled for five decades.
An ROI on National Security
Do you find it interesting that people complain about the costs of Homeland Security in that they fail to understand the value of a "NO EVENTS" for instance? We have not had any big attacks, since 9-11 in the United States. There may have been an event or two we do not know about as citizens as the authorities are working on the cases and going after the bad guys?Since we have not had any big attacks one should be asking; Why? Probably because we are offensive over there and thus they cannot attack us here, very distracted.
The Morality of Child Labor
From the comfort of their plush offices and five to six figure salaries, self-appointed NGO's often denounce child labor as their employees rush from one five star hotel to another, $3000 subnotebooks and PDA's in hand. The hairsplitting distinction made by the ILO between "child work" and "child labor" conveniently targets impoverished countries while letting its budget contributors - the developed ones - off-the-hook.
How Dogpoo is Changing The World
Perhaps a silent revolution is taking place, this time more than ever literally on your doorstep. Irritatingly literally even.
Mass Transportation Efficiencies and Price Per Rider Theories
Having redundancies and today's technologies in transportation we have protected the system for nearly any eventuality. Today in California, the BART train tram system is trying to figure out how to continue with mounting costs and California's financial debacle.
Fair Trade and Pearls in the U.S.
Guides for RetailersThe regulations about marketing pearls are listed in the FTC's Guides for the Jewelry, Precious Metals, and Pewter Industries. The guide is very specific about what retailers should call a pearl.
Advances in Nuclear Energy; Safe, Clean and Reliable
The newest pebble reactors are easy to build and manage and have extremely high out put considering their small size, perfect for islands set down wind from populations. Unfortunately the Three-mile Island and Chernople incident make populations feel uncomfortable with Nuclear.

Philosophical Thoughts from a Road Warrior; Part II
Continued thoughts while driving down the road in a huge semi; mobile command center, the miles click by, but the mind flies thru time at the speed of thought.Yet as we previously approached Socialism at a rapid rate and faster than anytime in our history during the previous 8 years administration we did not allow for it.
The Republican Party became popular due to its view on the way conservative America thinks so the country goes republican. If the democrats say the things that mainstream America wants to hear everyone does a turn around and goes democratic.
Judgment and detective work requires thinking about possibilities. One of the things I'd been thinking for a long time relates to the use of the Plague and other biologics against the North American people.
Dont Trade Rights for Security
"Those who sacrifice essential liberty for temporary safety are not deserving of either liberty or safety." -- Ben Franklin, 1776In the wake of 9/11 and subsequent terrorist attacks around the world, there is a real temptation to allow the government to take away some of our most precious rights in exchange for greater security.
Tracking Over The Road Trucks from Canada
Are you happy with all this so-called security after 9-11? Are you like most Americans I have talked with okay with the color thing and High Security Alert Colors and although the media really gets on your nerves and you feel like you are living in a scene of "The Boy who Cried Wolf" most say there are some rather obvious things they have seen which are just dumb. For instance the other day I saw four guys get out of a semi truck at a truck stop to fuel up and then go park.
Mexican Tariffs on American Goods?
Mexican has tariffs on goods, which come into its country from the United States. The tariffs in many cases are 50%.
Army Recruiting Dilemma Discussed
Currently the US Army is having trouble recruiting. These problems stem from the distrust of parents who lived thru the Vietnam War, as they remember the number of soldiers killed and would prefer their offspring are not needlessly sacrificed.
