Governments Worst Agency
Everyone knows the United States Government often falls down in their duties. Although over all the country is great and for the most part seems to work, there are several agencies that get an "F" on their report cards from some who act as government watchdogs. In my opinion there is no bigger waste of taxpayer's money than that of the Federal Trade Commission. Having studied a few cases it appears obvious that this worthless agency cannot seem to do anything right. The sooner we close this agency or reduce its budget the better. All money spent in the agency is completely wasted. They cannot get rid of SPAM, it is up over 3000% since they started working on it. Identity theft issues in our country have run ramped and the FTC need to answer some of those Viagra SPAM adds as they are utterly impotent in their enforcement of this as well.
The FTC broke up AT & T and today we have many vertically and horizontally integrated communication companies. The FTC went after Microsoft after the consumer voted with their dollar for them. The computer user voted for bundling of software and operating systems. The entire case was based on competitor complaints. There was no predatory pricing, Microsoft sold their products consistently lower or even in many cases gave them away. In the Franchising Industry we learn of one case where bad profiling, embellished creative writing and grandstanding trumped the reality of their purported Truth, Justice and the American Way. The FTC fined Petco after they were hacked by a criminal, instead of putting the criminal in jail. Abuses of power at the FTC run so deep that their well will never run dry as they dig towards China, while attacking America's greatest companies. Then there is the myth of the predatory pricing issue and case of the Great Northern Railroad. The FTC attacked "Phonics" when the teachers' union complained, even though it works and 85% of those using it could read sooner than those who did not. When it comes to Monopolies, anyone with half a brain knows that it is government who creates monopolies thru favoritism not companies. When companies compete everyone wins. The FTC is a complete joke of free enterprise, holding up the weak and purporting truth thru press releases to get next years budget money. Please spare us the Media Hype. The Federal Trade Commission takes the prize as the very worst government agency in our nation and is hereby acknowledged by this author.

Protecting Our Buses from International Terrorists
We know that the International Terrorists like the idea of attacking buses as we watch every week another attack in Israel. There have many ideas on how buses like Greyhound might protect the drivers through use of a high-tech ultra-strength plastic shields or enclosed see-through boxes.
End Of History? Not Quite
A visitor to Moscow would be immediately struck by the fact that an otherwise dull Kremlin now seduces one to break the sound barrier in a mike, rediscover one self on a Compaq or simply feel Warner in a Pringles. If this is not enough then there is always Chairman Mao in Tiananmen Square calling upon workers and peasants to not only carry forward the revolution but also gulp down a Sprite, while they are at it.
We Must Register AIDS Carriers and Homosexual Men
It is a law that we register deadly weapons with the authorities. It is a law that if you are a black belt in a Martial Art, that you must register your hands as a deadly weapon in many states.
The Mother of All Political Battles Has Begun!
News is spreading of the retirement of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, setting up a political battle the likes never before seen. This is the first of what could be several openings in the not too distant future.
Pierre Dupont de Nemours:After arranging the Armistice that ended or settled outstanding issues after the Revolutionary War Pierre Dupont de Nemours came to join the Royals including the Hapsburgs who were living near Jefferson and other esoteric Merovingians in and around Delaware. He and his family became important armaments manufacturers and it is reasonable to remember what Eisenhower said in his Military-Industrial Complex speech.
Fight Terror, With Education
A War on Terrorism? Conventional war being brought on an unconventional enemy is ineffective out of date. Building these countries up to a certain level of stability, and allowing them to take over and govern themselves is part of the Presidents plan.
Federal Trade Commission and Dismal Performance on Mergers
Most citizens agree that we need the Federal Trade Commission to protect us from Corporate Greed. However any such citizen who believe a government agency will help you in anyway or improve your quality of life is indeed amongst the bottom tier of intellectual capacity.
Carl von Clausewitz On War
For anyone who wishes to become an armchair General in their living room while watching the nightly news unfold on their TV set, these are some things they need to know. So often the news media will give opinions and ask other reporters what they think about this or that or the other thing.
How Futuristic Is Anarchy As A Way To Organize The State (II)
Any chances for a country to be ruled by alternative rule will always be zero because -as many economists, philosophers and scientists claim- the way the various parts reality consist of interrelate is dominated by forces we won't in a billion years have any chance of controling. An anarchist with aspirations to help build organizational structures not based on governing from above's best bet is to get a clear picture of those areas of science that are leading the way in terms of future progress.
Sweet Lies, The Aspartame Issue
Aspartame activists are constantly being attacked because all data are a matter of public record from congressional records to government documents. Now there is even a movie, Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World (www.
Treasury Department Falls Short on Blocked Persons List
I would like to discuss the blocked persons list of the United States Treasury and condemn the treasury for being somewhat out to lunch on the realities of the business world and how things work. First if you will check out this site with the lists of blocked people who may be involved in such activities you will see the format is impossible to utilize quickly.
Look! America Take a Look!
I heard on the news this week how America continues to battle to bring democracy in Iraq. The people of Iraq really don't seem to want a free country governed by their own people.
The Worlds Eldest Democracy Was A Truly Romantic Affair
Visible remnants of the world's eldest democracy can be seen in a town in the Carantania region in what is now Austria, where during the early Middle Ages, the tribal society of a Slav people managed to live for over 100 years without being invaded and out of sheer happiness invented a democratic system. They did not call it a democracy but the word invented later was taken directly from their example.

Battling Societys Cancer: Unemployment
The official figures are staggering: 35% of the workforce - about 280,000 people - are unemployed and looking for a job. Each 1.
Mental Masturbation of FTC Franchise Rule Report
Please read through this quick thought and discussion as if a conversation where one party has been taken out and we are left with a monologue as the other debater is missing. Assume that debater is the compilation of arguments presented and only existing in the 432 page, 10-year late report of the Federal Trade Commission' Franchise Rule, for it does not exist in reality or in any way lend itself to any sort of modern day economic theory of free markets, free men, the rights of men and created corporate entities to free contract.
Screening Trucks and Containers Coming Into Our Country
We presently have adequate sniffer devices in this country to help us screen the trucks and containers coming into this country at our checkpoints and ports. Now we should be conducting massive recording of odors of trucking shipments and containers for database evaluations to insure that we do not unnecessarily impede the flow of trade or delay parts needed to run our economic powerhouse.
Is This All There Is?
In today's Rants from Lance session I address the question many American's are asking them selves? Is this all there is? I myself have a number of questions along this theme? I believed it, when I was told of the American Dream and when I found out it was a lie; I wanted to scream. I worked hard, did every thing right tried the best I could and was able to sleep at night.
Feeling Squeezed by Political Correctness
I'm starting to feel squeezed by all the political correctness being imposed on us by both the Left and the Right. Both sides are constantly trying to infringe on our freedoms by telling us what we can and cannot say or do.
